Private equity expert turns judge

Guy Davies, managing partner at private equity house WestBridge Capital, has been chosen to judge the Wales and South West regional nominations for the British Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (BVCA) Management Team Awards.

The awards celebrate the importance of private equity and venture capital by showcasing companies and management teams who’ve benefited from investment. Winners of the regional heats for seven categories will be put forward for selection at the national final to be held in London on 4 July.

Guy Davies said:

“It’s an honour to be chosen as a private equity expert to judge these leading industry awards. Private equity is invaluable to ambitious companies keen to grow but struggling with funding.

“After reading dozens of entries, I’ve come to the conclusion the private equity sector is alive and kicking and delivering more tangible results than ever before.”

The BVCA Management Team Awards are the only accolades to recognise the positive impact of private equity and venture capital-backed companies within the British and global economies.

Award categories include Large Buyout Management Team of the Year, Mid-Market Management Team of the Year, Venture Capital-Backed Management Team of the Year, International Impact Management Team of the Year, Exit Management Team of the Year, Community & Environmental Action Award and CEO of the Year.

Regional winners will be announced shortly and entered into the national finals.
